Ύστερα από το σκάνδαλο του Hollywood Foreign Press Association περί ηθικής και έλλειψης διαφορετικότητας, τα τελευταία χρόνια αρκετοί ήταν οι ηθοποιοί και οι συντελεστές του κινηματογράφου που είχαν αποφασίσει να μην υποστηρίξουν τη διοργάνωση για τις Χρυσές Σφαίρες. Φτάνοντας στο σήμερα μπορούμε να πούμε με σιγουριά πως όλο αυτό ήταν ένα κακό όνειρο, αφού τα προβλήματα επιλύθηκαν με αποτέλεσματα η φετινή απονομή των Χρυσών Σφαιρών να λάβει ξανά τη χαμένη αίγλη της, προσελκύοντας μεγάλο αριθμό διάσημων σταρ του Hollywood. Στην 81η απονομή των Χρυσών Σφαιρών που θύμισε ξανά μετά από χρόνια πως είναι ο προάγγελος των Όσκαρ και ως αποτέλεσματα αλλά και ως τη γενική εικόνα της εκδήλωσης, μεγάλοι νικητές αναδείχθηκαν μεταξύ άλλων οι ταινίες Oppenheimer, Poor Things και Barbie, ενώ στις σειρές το Succession και το The Bear κατέκτησαν σαρωτικές νίκες.
